Well, they got poor folks down in China, more poor folks in 'Carolina
Seems like lately, there's poor folks most everywhere
Homeless children in New Delhi, old folks livin' on Skid Row, L.A.
Men of war's corporate lackeys actin' like they ain't even there
And it looks like hell's gonna freeze over before they care
Can't afford the gasoline to drive to work no longer there
Neither party up in DC, represents either you or me
An' it looks like hell's gonna freeze over, before they care
Underneath America's steeple, sit a lot of mis-guided people
'Tryin' to believe in someone often misquoted there
The message is so far from the level, it ain't welcome even by the devil
Unborn babies will be lucky if they never breathe the polluted air
And it looks like hell's gonna freeze over before they care
Veterans lyin' in the gutter, sick folks dyin' with no healthcare
Neither party up in DC, can see the forest or the trees
An' it looks like hell's gonna freeze over, before they care
Rather than fix highways and pollution, Social Security and Medicare
They pass knee-jerk non-binding resolutions an' build bridges that don't go
anywhere
Looks like hell's gonna freeze over before they care
Before we have fair elections and the world no longer lives in fear
The great Alaskan frozen tundra's gonna be warmer than Arizona
An' it looks like hell's gonna freeze over, before they care
Before they care, long before they care
And it looks like hell's gonna freeze over, long before they care *
* Dedicated to We The People of the 21st Century, victims of the most
corrupt, knee-jerk and totally incompetant congress in the history of the United States, if
not the world.
