Philosophy Of The Common

Within the dark theatre of vain religion and modern science of superstition
We oft’ become entrapped in twisted motive of hollow gold’s blind ambition
Swept by the hurricane of life’s confusion, every twisted direction leaning
We lose clear and just sight of that which has true purpose and real meaning
For there is only one just cause coming down from the great Father of lights
That sole valid purpose of our existence, the cause of Human and Civil Rights
If we all treat our brother and sister as we ourselves likewise wish to be
War and famine will be long forgotten and from greed’s pollution we will be free
And the great tide of pain and misery will join the dust of history’s shelves
For this is the sum of the whole matter, that we love our neighbor as ourselves
