Philosophy Of The Common

MEXICAN STANDOFF
In the chaos of my formative years of adolescence
I was taught that the gain of the material is the true goal
Thus I’ve strived long and hard toward such end to aspire
Toward pleasures of the peripheral at the price of my soul
And though I’ve habitually craved the seemingly easy lot
Of the wealthy capitalistic deceitful snake-oil charmer
I’ve somehow been unable to match the merry heart
Of the poor and itinerant Mexican dirt farmer
