COLLEGE
Emptying my bent spare-change cup, in good faith I signed up
Toward the embellishment of my poetry's plain pen erudition
Just my luck it turned out, the class aspired to be more about
The various and sundry improvement of non-fiction's fiction
And though I fancied a good time of polishing up my simple rhyme
I was compelled to compose instead recondite boredom of historical line
So, to make the best of a most dire and unfortunate situation
I set my heart to broaden the thin scope of my piece-meal education
By developing toward doctoral professorship of ivory-tower predilection
Of twisting all that be true into a perverse Babylon of total fiction
