RARE DAYS

Woke up, I was late for work, then remembered I'm on vacation
And the judge last night was lenient, in spite of my reputation
A biker called to apologize for starting that bar room brawl
And my daily jackpot lotto ticket somehow matched them all

Must be one of those rare days, when everything goes right
Walking on air days when fish on bare hooks bite
Though I ain't been to work for a week, feels like I'll get a raise
It's one of those rare, rare, rare, rare days

My friend paid back a loan that he already paid last Friday
A letter from home says my family no longer disowns me
A beauty pageant queen gave me her private phone number
And so many folks said, “have a nice day”, it truly makes me wonder

If it's one of those rare days, when everything goes right
Walking on air days when fish on bare hooks bite
When they give you a key to the city and his 'n her Chevrolets
One of those rare, rare, rare, rare days

Now, some folks may call this a fantasy
And you know, that may well be true, my brother
But imagine how cool this old world could be
If we were all just a little bit nicer to each other. . . and every day

Was one of those rare days, when everything goes right
Walking on air days when fish on bare hooks bite
One of those days that amaze beyond what all words can phrase
One of those rare, rare, rare, rare days

Hope each one of the rest of my days, just stays, stays and stays
Like one of those rare, rare, rare, rare days
One of those rare, rare, rare, rare days
